According to CAMRA, the Campaign For Real Ale, "Real ale is a type of beer defined by its traditional production. Also known as "cask conditioned" beer; the fundamental distinction between real and other ales is that the yeast is still present in the container from which the beer is served, although it will have settled to the bottom and is not poured into the glass. Because the yeast is still alive, the process of fermentation continues in the cask or bottle on the way to the consumer ensuring a fresh and natural taste." Tooheys Classic Dark Ale 1.7kg

Brewed to a recipe developed by brewers at Tooheys. This kit uses a high quality selection of malts, hops and yeast which produces a truly classic dark colour traditional ale. Makes 40 pints - brewing sugar required.

Woodforde's Admiral's Rerserve

The most recent addition to the Woodforde's range, this new 4.5% beer is brewed in the traditional English strong ale style. Launched as a pub beer in April 2002 to celebrate Woodforde's 21st Anniversary (1981-2002). It's now available as a homebrew kit. The solid and generous sweet fruit flavours blend intimately with the luscious malted barley creating a complex and extremely satisfying dark chestnut-coloured beer.  The combination of malt and the full hop flavour gives a long dry finish. This beer is both wonderfully, and dangerously, drinkable. This is a 3kg kit with additional hop extract.

 

Woodforde's Nog Porter Style

Traditionally known for being a strong beer brewed in East Anglia. Norfolk NOG is an excellent example of a strong 'Old' ale This reddish beer has an initial explosion of roast malt bitterness. This settles down, as a malty sweetness makes its presence felt. Maintains a dominant roast dryness to the end.

Woodforde's Wherry
